AI receptionist for electrical contractors

On a sparking outlet, it follows the script. Word for word.

Electrical calls split cleanly into two kinds: routine work that should be booked, and calls where the only right answer is a person calling back now. Right On Call picks up the calls you miss and treats those two kinds very differently. It never improvises on a safety call.

When electrical contractors miss the call

Keep your number. If you are free, you take the call like you always have. These are the moments the phone rings out anyway, and the ones Right On Call is built to catch.

Working in a live panel

Answering a phone is the last thing you should be doing.

On a ladder

Two hands on the fixture, phone on the truck.

After a summer storm

Every line rings at once when the power comes back wrong.

December evenings

Space heaters and lights trip circuits after the office closes.

When a missed call costs the most

Summer storms knock out power and trip panels from June to August. December brings overloaded circuits from heaters and lights. Typical pattern, not your call log.

Urgent or routine: how it sorts electrical calls

Typical lists. Yours is written with you at setup.

Urgent: your on-call phone, now

  • Sparks, smoke, a burning smell, or a shock (safety script and a human callback)
  • Power out to part of the house
  • A breaker that trips again as soon as it is reset

Routine: booked into your calendar

  • Pot lights and fixture installs
  • EV charger estimate visits
  • Panel upgrade estimates
  • Adding outlets or circuits

How the call goes

Illustrative
  1. Caller

One of our outlets just sparked and now there’s a burning smell.

  2. Receptionist

For your safety, please stop using the item right now. If you smell gas, and it’s safe to do so, please leave the area and call your gas utility or 911 from outside. I’m going to flag this so our team can call you back right away.

  3. Receptionist

What’s the best number to reach you on?

  4. Caller

    This number is fine.

  5. Receptionist

Thank you. Our team has been flagged and will call you back right away.

The safety message is the exact wording in the agent’s instructions. It does not tell the caller whether the outlet is safe, and it does not book a normal visit. A person calls back.

What your tech has before the truck leaves

  • Address with Canadian postal code
  • What lost power, and whether a breaker was tried
  • Owner or tenant, and a callback number
  • A photo or short video, requested by text when a visit is booked
  • Access notes

Why Right On Call for electrical

A fixed safety script

Sparks, smoke, burning, or a shock stop the call and trigger the same bounded message and an immediate callback request, every time, in English or French.

Estimates booked, not quoted

EV chargers and panel upgrades are booked as estimate visits against your real calendar. The receptionist never names a price.

A photo before you open the panel

When a visit books, the follow-up text asks for a photo or short video. When the caller replies, it lands on the job and your on-call phone.

What it will not do

  • Tell a caller whether something is safe to touch or use.
  • Book a normal visit on a safety call. A person calls back instead.
  • Quote a panel upgrade, a charger install, or any repair.
  • Take a card number over the phone.

Electrical questions

Is it safe to let an AI answer electrical emergency calls?

Only if it does not improvise. Right On Call stops the normal call on any mention of sparks, smoke, burning, or a shock, reads a fixed safety message, takes a callback number, and flags the call for an immediate human callback. It gives no other safety advice.

Can it book estimate visits?

Yes. Panel upgrades, EV chargers, and other quoted work are booked as estimate visits against your live calendar. The receptionist never gives a price.

Does it work in French?

Yes. If a caller starts in French, the receptionist continues in French, including the safety message.
